Kensington Kids Academy is an established, foreign-owned English school based in central Fukuoka, Japan. Since 2019, we’ve built a strong reputation for offering high-quality English education through engaging, academically focused lessons. About the Role
As a Kids English Teacher at Kensington Kids Academy, you will deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons to small groups and private students in a supportive and academically focused environment.
You will use our structured curriculum while incorporating your own creativity and teaching style. Our lessons are designed to develop children’s language ability, confidence, collaboration skills, and genuine love of learning.

Qualifications
- Native-level English proficiency
- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching kindergarten-aged children, including group lessons and K1 (ages 3–4), preferably in an international kindergarten.
- Additional experience teaching elementary-aged children is preferred.
- University degree
- Valid visa permitting work in Japan
- Current residency in Japan is required (Fukuoka residency preferred but not mandatory)

Kensington is looking for someone to take a central role in our school administration while communicating with our international team and supporting children and teachers in the classroom.
This is an ideal position for someone who is interested in education and wants to be part of an international team.
The Ideal Candidate
The three most important qualities for this position are:
- Kindness and Good Communication: These qualities are essential for all our team members and particularly important in this role. You will communicate regularly with parents, children and colleagues, build positive relationships and ensure that important information is shared clearly.
- Administrative & Organisational Skills: We are looking for someone who is highly organised, comfortable using computers and digital tools, and able to take initiative when completing assigned tasks.
- A Genuine Interest in Children and Education: You should enjoy working with children and be interested in learning more about early years education.
Ideally, you will have the English listening and communication skills needed to work comfortably in an English-speaking environment from your first day. However, we also welcome candidates with intermediate English who have a strong willingness to learn and improve.
Job Description
