Too many schools operate as businesses, placing profit ahead of what’s best for our children. Rooted in our philosophy of making every decision with our students in mind, we are committed to building a community where children come first. We believe that joy, wonder and academic achievement can and should go hand in hand.

Our Teachers

At Kensington, we are proud to bring together an international team of educators from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared passion for children’s learning and growth. Each of us brings extensive experience in early childhood education and has been carefully chosen through our rigorous, industry-leading hiring process.

After joining, we receive an in-depth initial training program, typically lasting up to half a year. Our learning and growth don’t end there; we see teachers as lifelong learners, and we continue with ongoing professional development to ensure we always provide the best possible education for our children.

Above all, we create a safe, nurturing environment where children feel secure, cared for, and respected. We act as role models of authentic English communication, helping students naturally acquire language through daily interactions, inquiry, and play.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach, our role is multifaceted; We are not only instructors, but most importantly learners alongside the children. Our role includes:

• Learning with children — co-exploring and co-constructing the learning journey together.

• Guiding discovery — listening carefully to children’s ideas, revisiting them, and provoking new questions and problem-solving opportunities.

• Balancing inquiry and teacher-led lessons — ensuring children gain both the freedom to explore and the structure needed to grow in English and academics.

• Designing the learning environment — creating learning spaces that encourage curiosity, creativity, and meaningful exploration.

• Supporting growth — nurturing social and emotional skills such as confidence, empathy, communicating thoughts and feelings, and resilience.

• Collaborating as a team — co-planning, reflecting, and learning together as colleagues to strengthen our program.

• Partnering with families — maintaining open, supportive communication with parents to build a strong bridge between home and school.

• Celebrating Japanese culture and diversity — drawing on our international team’s perspectives while honoring and respecting Japanese culture and traditions.

当スクールの講師陣

ケンジントンに集まっているのは、「子どもたちの学びと成長への情熱」という共通点を持ちながらも、バックグラウンドは多様な講師たちです。このインターナショナルな教育者たちが当スクールの自慢です。それぞれが幼児期教育の分野で豊富な経験を持ち、最先端かつ厳格な採用プロセスを経て選ばれた講師たちです。

入職後には、通常半年にわたる徹底した初期研修プログラムを受けますが、それで終わりではありません。常に最高の教育を提供するために、継続的かつ専門的な研修を行うなど、その後も学びと成長を続けます。これは私たちが「教育者は生涯学び続ける存在」と考えているからです。

English: Both the Goal and the Medium

At Kensington, English is more than a subject.

We aim for native-like fluency, but also use English as the language of thinking, inquiry, and connection.

Students learn English through:

• Exploration and discussion

• Literature and storytelling

• Science, math, and social studies

• Daily conversation and creative play

ネイティブに近い流暢さを目指すだけでなく、英語を「思考」「探究」「つながり」の言語として活用しているのです。

Personalised Learning

We believe the best learning happens in small groups, where each child receives personal attention, space to express themselves, and the support they need to grow with confidence and develop strong, positive learning behaviours.

That’s why at Kensington, we operate with a 1:4 teacher-child ratio most of the time (minimum 1:6)—ensuring every student is truly seen, supported, and able to reach their full academic potential.

We offer an intentionally small, high-quality program, with enrollment limited to just 20 students in our first year and only a modest increase planned for Year 2—ensuring every child receives the highest level of care, attention, and individual support.

少人数制とパーソナライズされた学び

ケンジントンでは、一人ひとりの子どもがしっかりと見てもらえる環境こそ、最も深い学びにつながると考えています。少人数グループの中で、子どもたちは：

• 自分らしく表現できる

• 必要なサポートをしっかり受けられる

• 学びに対して前向きな姿勢と自信を育てられる

そんな安心感のある学びの場を実現するために、私たちは通常1:4、最低でも1:6の講師陣と子どもの配置でクラスを運営していきます。すべての子どもに「ちゃんと見てもらえる」環境で、最大限に成長してほしいと願っています。

開校１年目のクラスは定員を20名に限定し、少人数・高品質のプログラムを提供します。 2年目も増員はごく数名にしぼる予定で、どの子も丁寧に、深く関わっていける環境を保ち続けることを目指しています。

Our campus is open, filled with natural light, and designed to inspire learning with the environment as the 3rd teacher.

Academic Progress

Every student will make steady and meaningful academic progress. While children learn at their own pace, our teachers actively guide and support each child to grow across all areas of our curriculum.

Our Academic Year 2025–26 is designed for:

• K1 (3-year-olds)

• K2 (4-year-olds)

2025〜2026年度の対象年齢：

• 年少（3歳児クラス）

• 年中（4歳児クラス）

• Develop native-like proficiency in English speaking, reading, writing, and vocabulary

• Build confidence in expressing thoughts, feelings, and opinions

• Lay strong foundations in numeracy, science, and critical thinking

• Foster appreciation for Japanese culture and the world around us

• Cultivate leadership, social-emotional skills, and teamwork

• Grow a vibrant learning community where children and parents work together for the betterment of our society
